Grassroots Innovation: Transforming Government from the Ground Up

In this talk, we will share the story of our innovative pilot project focused on the data from the Metals and Minerals Exploration Survey. This journey began with Sarah Heath from NRCan, who identified the initial problem. We then recruited Jagoda Walny, who was working for the Canada Energy Regulator, for her expertise and leadership, and finally, the viewpoint of Dianna Miller who joined NRCan midway through the process and had to navigate the project to completion.

The site is now live to rave reviews: https://natural-resources.canada.ca/mining-statistics/exploration/at-a-glance. So it is possible to do… but how did we get there? What did it take?

Join us as we recount this unique journey, highlighting the challenges, strategies, and successes of driving change from the ground up.
