In an increasingly polarized society, how might we engage in dialogue and create a shared vision of the future together? Participatory futures is a framework, to help do so, by combining futures studies & strategic foresight with community engagement and discursive design to facilitate conversation and imagine collective futures, where everyone is represented. Bringing citizens together to think about the future is not new, but emerging digital technologies and involvement of artists, designers, psychologists, and game-makers allow people to be involved at scale in new ways. Presenter Nina Maturu will share with the audience the promise of participatory futures and how it can be applied to strategic decisions and public policy.
