Jacky Tweedie (she/her)

Performance Measurement and Results Division Chief Financial Officer Branch), Health Canada

Jacky Tweedie joined the federal public service in 2010. Prior to that, she taught English full-time at Carleton University in the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies while pursuing doctoral studies in Cognitive Science, (her focus was on mapping complex socio-technical systems and expert human decision-making). At heart a pragmatist, she discontinued those studies once in the public service full-time, given she realised she was now fully immersed in an extraordinary CSTS (field studies ongoing). She also has degrees in History, Applied Linguistics, and Public Policy and Program Administration.

Since joining the public service, she was worked at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada; Health Canada; Canada Border Services Agency; and Treasury Board Secretariat. She is currently at Health Canada working on the implementation of the Policy on Results initiative. She is a trained evaluator; risk management specialist; and performance and results delivery expert. In her world, there are no silos, only systems, with humans-in-the-loop.

She is a fierce advocate of open government; digital transformation; and smart use of technology enablers – and human factors are at the heart of it all.
