John Ogilvie (he/him)

Consulting Solution Architect for Public Sector, Bifrost Consulting Group

John is a systems engineer and serial founder of startups, twice VC-funded. John moved to public sector consulting in 2007, because that's where the big problems are. His specialty is applying startup drive and creativity to public sector cloud adoption, as an architect.

He is arguably the most experienced public sector cloud consultant in Canada, with twelve different public sector clients since 2020. John helps Govt of Canada (GC) departments to move hard into cloud, with a heavy focus on security.

In 2021, John was asked by GC's Treasury Board to assist with an updated cloud strategy and to prepare internal playbooks capturing proven best practices for cloud areas like collaboration, CRM, data analytics, etc.

John is a ranty industry blogger, cruelly encouraged by readers who say "I'm glad you said that, since in my position, I can't."

In his spare time, John experiments with GenAI and VR. He has no known hobbies or outside interests.
