Tracy-Lynn Reid (she/her)

Practice Lead, People & Leadership Research & Advisory Services, Info-Tech Research Group

Tracy-Lynn Reid is a qualified Human Resources leader who has spent her career supporting organizations within the private and public sectors, both unionized and non-unionized. Her professional experiences cover the full suite of HR services, including workforce planning and succession management, labour and employee relations, organizational design and restructuring, talent acquisition, employee engagement and experience, culture, performance management, and strategy development, etc.

She has given guidance and applied her expertise to a variety of domestic and international projects, a few of which stand out as her favourites.

  • In 2008 she was contracted by a regional economic development board under a funding mandate from Service Canada to collaborate with a small group of local hotel and restaurant owners and help them develop a Labour Market Strategy, to combat the recruitment and retention challenges associated with seasonal employment in the Hospitality industry.
  • From 2011-2012, she participated in an exciting project under the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, through the Municipal Partners in Economic Development (MPED) program. Her contribution involved working closely with a rural municipality in Bolivia to develop recruitment and performance management recommendations in response to the workforce barriers they were experiencing as a remote public sector organization.
  • A few years later, Tracy-Lynn’s role as Senior HR Business Partner meant supporting the IT department at The Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto on their enterprise-wide Epic software implementation. She worked closely with senior IT leadership, Epic project leadership, and front-line managers to support policy and legislative compliance, performance management, conflict resolution, employee relations, and communications to all project employees.

Today, her career has evolved and she now oversees a team of Research & Advisory Analysts who work with IT leaders to resolve recruitment and retention challenges and mitigate talent risk within the IT industry. Periodically she uses her passion for helping people and sharing knowledge to provide expertise and insights to magazine articles, conference panel discussions & speaking engagements, interviews, and through her own musings.

Tracy-Lynn holds a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University, and a Masters in Human Resources Management from York University. She is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) under the Ontario Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).
