Navigating the disruptions on the horizon

In our hyperconnected world, decision-makers grapple with a pivotal question: What disruptions lie ahead? The “Disruptions on the Horizon” 2024 report, by Policy Horizons Canada, identifies and assesses 35 potential disruptions that Canada may encounter. The disruptions transcend mere trends; they have the power to reshape our society, alter our functioning, and redefine how we live, work, and connect. Reflecting on and addressing these disruptions could help minimize risks and maximize positive outcomes. Understanding their interconnections and ripple effects is crucial to developing resilient strategies, programs, and policies.
In this talk, Kristel Van der Elst, Director General of Policy Horizons Canada, the Government of Canada’s center of excellence in foresight, will delve into the disruptions featured in the report, with timely updates. Kristel will provide her insights into the disruptions, how they interconnect, and possible implications.
