Marà­a Inés Baqué (she/her)

Secrétaire à l'administration numérique et à l'innovation technologique / Secrétaire à la modernisation, Argentine

With a background of 30 years in private sector, mainly in IT, Financial Services and Manufacturing Industries, María Inés joined in January 2016 the new administration of the Government of Argentina. She was appointed as Secretary of Digital Government and Technological Innovation reporting to the Secretary of Modernization, Under Chief of Cabinet Mr. Andrés Ibarra. She is in charge of the National Digital Agenda Project, Digital ID, Consumer´s Digital Services, among other projects.

She is also committed to the empowerment of Young Women Leaders and actively participates in Vital Voices as a mentor and belongs to AS/COAS Hemispheric Women Network.

She has strong background in process reengineering, start-ups, IT management, shared services centers.

Her previous roles had been as Services Director for Argentina & Uruguay at Microsoft, IT Services Director at HP Argentina, Pgm Manager Off-shore strategy in EDS Latin America, BPO Director in EDS Argentina, Operations Director at Metropolitan Life Argentina & Uruguay, Credit Retail Manager at HSBC Argentina, Operations Manager at HSBC – Maxima Pension Fund, Reengineering Manager at La Buenos Aires Insurance Company, Reengineering analyst at Sevel Argentina (Fiat -Peugeot Licensee).
María Inés has a bachelor´s degree in Information Technology from the Engineering School of the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (UBA). She is a great believer in education and women empowerment as huge social transformers. On top of her roles, she sponsored the Career development Program for HP Argentina and she led the Diversity & Inclusión team for Microsoft Latam Services.

María Inés enjoys to read, travel and cook in her spare time.
