US Election 2024 Viewing Party

What is it?

This year’s FWD50 conference happens amidst one of the most consequential elections in U.S. history. Canada and the U.S. share the world's longest undefended border, and our futures are inextricably linked. Since the events of November 5 will be consequential, however they unfold, we decided to lean into the timing and run a viewing party.

On the evening of November 5, 2024, Carahsoft and FWD50 are welcoming attendees (both in-person attendees, and virtual attendees who want to make the trip) to Lansdowne Park. In keeping with our nonpartisan stance, we’ll be streaming election coverage on three screens—one left, one center, and one right. As the evening progresses, we’ll also share behind-the-scenes stories about exit polling, newsrooms, and campaign technology thanks to a few surprise guests.

Who can attend?

Anyone with an in-person ticket to FWD50, who’s attending November 4-6, can join the party. We’re also inviting all virtual ticketholders who are participating virtually to join the fun and meet some of their in-person counterparts and see the venue in the Aberdeen Pavilion where the conference happens. If you’ve never attended in person and you’re in the National Capital Region, we’d love to see you!

Timing

The party kicks off at 5PM for in-person ticket holders and 6pm for virtual ticket holders, and we’ll run until 11PM, by which time there may or may not be a result. Two free drinks will be handed out on site during the party. Either way, we’ll wrap up the party so everyone can head home and be back onsite at 10AM on November 6 for an in-person only final day of the conference.

Registered?

If you’ve already got your ticket to FWD50, then you automatically have access to the party.

Not registered yet? You may already have a pass!

If you work for SSC, ESDC, TBS, or DND, you have access to a virtual ticket thanks to a departmental pass. To claim it, just visit this page and confirm your government email, and we’ll send you a registration link.

How to buy tickets

FWD50 kicked off with a virtual day October 10, but there’s still time to secure your spot. All content from October 10 was recorded and is available to ticketholders—so your November 4-6 ticket includes a dozen fantastic talks from around the world that you can watch whenever it’s convenient.
