Alexa Raad has deep knowledge in the cybersecurity, DNS and internet infrastructure industries and is the author of a US and European patent in cybersecurity. In addition, As a 25+ year tech industry veteran and P&L leader, she has served as an advisor to CEOs, C-Suites and private equity teams. She is the Co-Founder of TechSequences, a podcast exploring the intended (and unintended) consequences of the internet and internet related technologies on the way we live, play and work.

Passionate about preserving the internet’s utility as a force for good, Alexa has conceived, built and led successful industry-wide coalitions and organizations to address larger issues such as DNS abuse and cybersecurity.

Alexa serves on the advisory board of Verified Voting and DARPA’s ASED (Active Social Engineering Defense).  She is also a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and has served, by appointment, as a Webby’s judge since 2008.

This talk will liken disinformation to the current pandemic, drawing parallels between virus and disinformation as contagions which target vulnerable populations and share characteristics such as super spreaders and super spreading events and platforms. See more.
