Aviva Oskow (she/they) is an award-winning principal product designer specializing in advancing human-centered, ethical design in civic technology. With a foundation in branding and communications for social good, she transitioned to the federal government in 2016. Until 18F was dismantled in early 2025, Aviva was leading the redesign of travel.state.gov with the U.S. Department of State. Her portfolio includes other high-impact transformation projects with the U.S. Department of Justice, including leading the front-facing visual and interaction design of civilrights.justice.gov, ada.gov, FOIA.gov, and the FBI’s first open-source crime data platform, the Crime Data Reporter. A recognized thought leader in accessible and equitable design for public services, Aviva speaks at conferences and institutions, including Code for America Summit, CONFAB, AIGA, and was a 2023 Federal Innovation Council member.
