Ioana Contu (she/her)

Ioana Contu is a Team Lead on the Platform Business Unit at the Canadian Digital Service (CDS). In her role, she is committed to enable teams to build inclusive, efficient and accessible services that champion human-centered design. Currently leading two product teams (GC Articles and GC Forms), Ioana’s role is to streamline collaboration, demonstrate product leadership, model and promote the CDS values, and leverage agile ways of working. Ioana’s approach to team leadership relies on building projects around motivated individuals and empowered teams – she also enables teams to deliver by creating the right team makeup, work environment and support system.

Ioana comes from a design background, having previously led the Interaction Design community of practice at CDS. Prior to joining CDS, Ioana spent more than a decade on design teams in a variety of organizations in the private sector, including 3 years as a Senior UX Designer at Bell Media, where she crafted experiences for video entertainment products and the Bell Media core platforms.
