Your future identity: Why who you are matters

The concept of identity is both simple and complex. In the physical world, we recognize other humans. We trust them, interact with them, respect their rights, and hold them accountable. Even as we age and change, we are still ourselves.
However, a digital identity is far more nuanced. Linking a physical human to the many representations of that person online is not only difficult, and error-prone with the potential for greater vulnerabilities—getting it wrong can be incredibly damaging.

A government can only deliver meaningful, personalized services if it knows to whom those services are being provided and why. While digital ID, entity analytics, and responsible authentication are at the core of almost everything we do digitally, one sector cannot deliver these functions alone. In this fireside chat, Kyndryl's Brendon Delong and FWD50 co-chair Alistair Croll explore the role of digital identity in the public sector, the need to partner to get it right and how it can be used to create secure services while meeting the increasing expectations of citizens, residents, and the digital economy.
