Lewis Eisen is a leading global authority on the use of respectful language in policy drafting. He draws on over 40 years’ experience as a practising lawyer, business consultant, and federal policy writer. The 4th edition of his Amazon international bestseller Rules: Powerful Policy Wording to Maximize Engagement was released in June 2024. 

Lewis's approach to drafting policies has been adopted at private, government, and not-for-profit organizations around the world. HIs work with the Government of Canada includes policy development groups at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Library and Archives Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and First Nations Financial Management Board. He has also worked with the Inspection Office in the UK, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and a variety of provincial government organizations.
