Deputy Chief Information Officer, Global Affairs Canada

Allison Young holds a PhD in Political Science from Dalhousie University. She is an international specialist with 17 years of experience at Global Affairs Canada in the areas of trade negotiations, human rights and human security, and trade promotion and investment attraction. She led Canada’s Trade Commissioner team in New York where she refocused the program on innovation and established 3 Canadian Technology Accelerators for digital media, cleantech and healthIT. Most recently, as Deputy Chief Information Officer at Global Affairs Canada, she has led digital business transformation efforts aimed at bringing a more client centric view to technology provision in the department.
