Jerry Overton (he/him)

Jerry Overton is CEO and co-founder of the appliedAIstudio. He’s a practicing data scientist, former Fellow and Head of Artificial Intelligence at DXC. He serves as Vice Chair of the Scott-Morgan Foundation– whose mission is the use of AI and robotics to improve the lives of those with disabilities. Jerry is the author of Going Pro in Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence: The Simplest Way.

His research and education includes Computer Science at Missouri Science and Technology, Graduate Studies in Artificial Intelligence at Stanford University, and Graduate Research for the Center for the Research and Computing at The Open University.

Jerry is passionate about the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence and robotics to enhance people’s lives and society.

AI, sustainability, and ethics

In this workshop, we will develop the intuition and common sense needed to apply AI in a low-carbon economy. Participants will learn about the abilities and limitations of modern AI through hands-on interaction. They will explore common-sense approaches to AI ethics by competing in trivia teams. They will learn how get started with AI by participating in the launch of a real, government-scale project. See More.
