As a kid, Ben dreamed of joining the RCMP. He convinced his mom to sew yellow stripes onto his navy sweatpants to look the part. One day, a real officer gave him his backup hat, and Ben wore that makeshift uniform proudly for nearly a year.

That early respect for public service has carried through his entire life.

As a government geek, Ben has helped shape policy at all levels across Canada. He worked in the House of Commons and ran for MP in the Yukon.

From NASA to BlackBerry to CERN, as a Waterloo engineer, Ben has worked on some of Canada's most innovative projects, both at home and abroad.

And as a serial entrepreneur, Ben has built and scaled four venture-backed technology companies, including Presto (public), Clearco (unicorn), Proof (acquired), and Hyper (recently acquired by Motorola Solutions).

With Hyper, Ben and his team are building the future of AI-powered emergency response - voice AI for 911.
