Ana Monroe is the CEO of Ishmael Interactive, a human-centered management consultancy working with customer & digital experience, innovation, and process improvement teams.

She is the author of the Human-centered Design (HCD) Guide series and the founder and former Program Manager of the Service Design and Enterprise Digital Experience teams for the General Services Administration (GSA), US federal government.

While at GSA, she proved the HCD process through leading the teams to unlock $11 million in cost avoidance while shrinking the agency's digital footprint by 36% without service disruptions or reorganizations.

She is a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, (MFA, 2016) and of Columbia College, Columbia University, New York City (BA, 2004). She currently lives in Los Angeles with her family.
