Accessibility and Inclusive Design Lead, Service numérique canadien (SNC)

Julianna Rowsell is an Accessibility and Inclusive Design Lead with the Canadian Digital Service. She has worked in accessibility within the public service for almost 15 years. Julianna is a passionate advocate for inclusive design and delivery of services through socially responsible policy. She looks for projects where she can design with purpose, matching strategic goals to people’s needs. She aims to design to improve lives, reduce barriers and build up communities in an effort to create more equitable experiences. Julianna is heavily involved in the accessibility community and co-organizes a11yYoW, sits on an interdepartmental government working group on accessibility, and has previously been an invited expert with the W3C for the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group. Currently pursuing a Masters in Inclusive Design at OCAD to deepen her understanding of equitable partnerships, systems design and how it can be applied to help build a more inclusive public service.
